The International Cognitive Ability Resource is a public-domain assessment tool which aims to encourage the broader assessment of cognitive abilities in social sciences research. The collaborators working on this project believe that the best way to achieve this aim is by making it easier for research scientists to employ flexible and unrestricted measures which have been well-validated against one another.
We hope this site will further this aim by:
1. distributing the resources which are currently available (the existing "item types")
2. providing psychometric information about these resources
3. encouraging researchers to develop and contribute item types for use (and validation) by others
The success of this project is dependent on the collaborative involvement of international cognitive ability researchers and, more broadly, social scientists from a wide variety of disciplines. With that spirit in mind, we hope you will share your expertise, your feedback and your support.
The Sample Test section provides a public-domain alternative. You will need to register first by emailing us via the contact information given at ICAR-project.com.
The Item Types section provides a description and psychometric data for each type. The items are linked at the bottom of the page describing the psychometric properties. Additional information about the measures can be found in the Papers section.
